The Fault In Our Stars by John Green Book Review

The Kick Off

It has spread to her lungs and she has to walk around with an oxygen tank, which she named Philip. Her life has been extended indefinitely by the miracle drug, Phalanxifor. Her lung tumors shrunk immensely. It is her mother's opinion that Hazel is depressed. So, she sends her to a support group fir cancer kids. Hazel's story takes off when she meets Augustus Waters.

Characters

Hazel Grace Lancaster is a sixteen-year old cancer kid. She has stage IV thyroid cancer. Her life has been extended indefinitely by the miracle drug, Phalanxifor. Hazel has gotten her GED due to her being pulled out of school. She takes classes at MCC, a local community college.

Augustus Waters is a seventeen- year old boy who had cancer. He had to get his leg removed and get a prosthetic one. He has been NEC (Not Evident of Cancer) for fourteen months now. Augustus travels to support group with his friend Issac, who is about to lose his eyes. When Augustus sees Hazel he immediately tells her shes beautiful and continues to charm her. He is a wonderful person and Hazel keeps him close to her heart.

Issac is Augustus's bestfriend. Issac is a great “take a break” character. His story and problems removed the focus off of Hazel and Augustus and gave the story more depth and drama that keeps you turning the page. Issac goes blind due to cancer in his eyes.

My Review

The Fault in Our Stars was by far the best book I've ever read. John Green made his characters real and they made my reading experience one of the best. Augustus Waters was by far one of the best male characters I have ever encountered. The plot was one of twists and turns that keeps you reading. I proudly give this book a 5/5 star rating. It was worth the read!
