Armchair BEA (Day 4) "Beyond the Blog"

Today's topic is sharing a fun aspect of something on your blog or in your life. Something I do beyond the blog is work with animals!

I volunteer at the Bartlett Animal Shelter :) I love helping the animals any way I can. I love helping those who can't speak for themselves! Animals are such a vital part of peoples lives. I believe that my pets are are apart of my family. I call them my babies and even care for them as such. I even wipe their noses with a tissue when they have peanut butter on them. People don't understand how much animals impact our lives. They are very effective in physical, mental, and emotional therapy. Every time I'm sad I don't even have to say anything, my dogs come and sit in my lap and lick my hand, as if to tell me, "It's gonna be okay. I'm here now." and I pull comfort from knowing that this animal that can't talk to me knows when I need cheering up. So if they can do it for me, I can do something for them :) THE FIRST PICTURE IS MY AUNT'S DOG : CALVIN
MY DOGS ARE LACEY AND ZOEY:)
Zoey is a boy and Lacey is a girl

  6. Like Amanda I think if I volunteered at an animal shelter I'd want to take all the animals home because I'm a sucker and they'd all give me "that look" that I would not be able to resist.
I've never had a pet of my own, but our neighbor's dog is like a surrogate pet. We take care of him when his humans go out of town and he always runs over to say hello when we are outside. He is a great dog.

  8. Animals rock! We got the wonderful Murphy Grace from the shelter to complete our family. He is the light of my life, even when he snores.

Because of allergies to cats, I can't volunteer, but have donated paintings to raffle off at the events.

  9. I have 3 cats myself & they really are like babies. Even better is that they know when you need love & support & they don't judge you for anything. In fact, my cat helps me blog occasionally. :) Tattooed Books

  10. I agree. I like to bring my dog to my grandma's when I visit because it really seems to cheer her up to have a furry friend to cuddle. :)
