Bigg Talk: E-Readers! Whats your take??

As I have told you all before, buying books is getting expensive! So around Christmas time I invested in a Pandigital E-Reader. I didn't want to invest in a very expensive one because what if I didn't like it? Then I would have wasted my money! So I got my E-Reader and I hadn't used it. Around last Friday I made a decision to use some gifted money to buy books. Well buying them on the Barnes&Noble Nook Interface that the Pandigital Novel runs on was much cheaper than buying the paper books so I bought most of the books on my wishlist,
because of my membership, coupons, and already low prices getting all the books I wanted on Nook wasn't hard at all. I will be splitting up the books I bought into different Stacking the Shelves Posts. As I was buying the books I wanted I was so happy! But when I started reading it was sort of a bittersweet feeling. I was so happy to be reading what I have been dying for, but I missed the paper and I missed using my lovely book marks! I guess I just have to build a healthy relationship with my Digital Novel, I even made my own case for my Digital Novel because the only one they had was not something I wanted and I made my own that is me and I love it. But I want to know your take on digital reading! Please tell me how you feel about E-Readers! I would really love to know! Please comment! Happy Reading!

  1. um Elle, I don't mean to be offensive or rude or anything but why why why did you change your blog when it was so darn cute with the polka dots!!!
As for e-readers, I don't have one but I am getting a nook for my birthday. Have heard good things about them from several people.

  2. I actually don't like real books. When I get real books from the library, I read those last, usually. I put them off until they're due back. Just loathe DTB's. If there was a cheap way to get ebooks- like they started selling them used- I don't think I'd ever get another DTB again. I never thought I would like ebooks- I refused to buy an ereader for the longest time. But after a month or so, I was hooked on ebooks.

    1. Really? Is there a reason why you don't like DTB's? Or is it just a preference? I hope I grow to love my E-Reader. Right now I am loving reading at night without having to keep a lamp on!

  3. I think I read faster on the ereader. It's nice not having to turn pages and just push a button or touch the screen- saves time too. During the day, you might try to read 5 minutes here or there in between work and/or kids. In a real book, you spend a lot of those minutes just trying to find your place. On the ereader, it's easy to find where you left off because there's just not a lot of text on the screen. Also, I like reading longer books on the ereader- don't have to hold a heavy book. So, since I got an ereader I'm more willing to read long books. Also, I'm very OCD so I like that the books are perfect. I didn't even highlight or underline books in college- can't stand a book that doesn't look pristine. Also, I have some books that I've bought multiple copies because I'm convinced they smell, are too dusty, etc., so when I want to reread the book I end up buying a new copy. Now, I just buy a copy for the ereader and I'm done.

    1. I totally understand that! I would always be worried that the ink you bleed through the next page and ruin my book or that I would waste water on it and ruin it completely. Now with my E-Reader being waterproof and having the highlighting and note taking features its really easy.
